Love in Pain or Run in Pride

My heart misses you here,
My better judgment halts me;
I am but fiction, lies and dreams,
I wish I could be real to you.

In you I found a kindred soul,
Your suffering greater than mine;
But you grew strong and down to earth,
While I kept running in arrogant pride.

I would like to walk with you,
One day tell my truths to you;
I would like to make love to you,
And shelter you and care for you.

I am afraid of my ’self’ hurting you,
I am afraid of your love hurting me;
So maybe I should stay away,
And hope you find a love to hold.

I fancied myself alone in love,
But it hurts now not to have you here;
I know not which path now to take,
To run in pride or love on pain.
