Are We Progressing or Regressing

The 80’s are back. Every season we refer to old trends to inspire us. In the past mankind strived to be futuristic, now we strive to be vintage. Don’t you think that it is ironic that our future is a duplication of our past.

I wonder why we are stuck in the past when the future stands with open arms to welcome us. Maybe all of a sudden we are afraid to move, afraid to risk. I guess that is a side effect of success.

Then again, come to think of it; pioneers in science were few and were persecuted by the masses. So the future might be a domain of a select few rather than everyone. But for purposes of idealistic musing it sure would have been cool if everybody looked to a positive future.
