A Poem Dedicated to My Friends

As of yesterday I have been privileged to exist on this planet in the present form for a quarter century.  Thinking about it humbles me as the blessings that I have received are far more than what I deserve.

I realize that this life is a shared experience and I am thankful for the experiences that YOU (my friends, family and adversaries) have shared with me. So to thank you for sharing your life with me, here is a short poem dedicated to YOU.

My Friends,

We may have just met on a train,
we may have known each other so long;

we may have jumped into the sea,
we may have scaled walls and trees;

we may have had coffee or tea,
we may have had food to die for;

we may have talked over drinks,
We may have walked in the rain;

we may have cheered for a team,
we may have filmed a scene;

we may have negotiated deals,
we may have inspired dreams ;

we have have written words of love,
we may have pondered the meaning of life;

we may have failed miserably,
we may have done impossible things;

we may have had terrible dates,
we may have had romantic nights;

we may have had magical moments,
we may have caused the other shame;

we may have longed to be together,
we may have avoided each other;

we may have hurt each other,
we may have shared a tear or two;

we may have made love,
we may have kissed;

we may have marveled at it all,
we may have parted before it is time;

no matter where, when or how we met,
You are now a part of me;

I thank You with all my heart,
for what we shared has made me whole.
